Challenge
An outdated ERP system that could no longer meet legal requirements for cloud-based document handling.
Solution
Modernization of Bredahl Kristensen’s IT-landscape by implementing and supporting Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
Expected value
Legal compliance, better project overview and integration with the Microsoft ecosystem.
Like many others in the industry, Bredahl Kristensen had an outdated ERP system that did not meet the new legal requirements for cloud-based document handling.
“We had no issues with our old system. It was great, but since it was no longer maintained, we had to switch to comply with current legislation,” says owner and CEO Bjarne Bredahl.
The question was which system to choose to meet the legal requirements while also providing the tools needed by a joinery and carpentry business.

Dynamics 365 Business Central offers familiar features and new possibilities
Bredahl Kristensen had a clear goal for the new ERP system:
“Our top priority was to get a system that resembled what we had, especially in terms of set up, management and project overview,” says Bredahl.
With over 40 years of experience and nearly 30 employees, the company chose Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, delivered by long-time IT partner Cepheo.
“Now we can meet legal requirements with cloud-based invoicing,” he says.
Meeting legal requirements is not the only benefit of the ERP system. It connects the entire company on a single cloud-based platform and works seamlessly with other Microsoft solutions.
Bredahl highlights the ability to export from the ERP system to Microsoft Excel.
“It’s smart and simple to get a quick summary. Now we just need to adjust it to look the way we want.”
The ability of Dynamics 365 Business Central to integrate key third-party solutions such as Intempus for time tracking and Continia for payment handling was also a major factor in the decision.
Security and clarity in the cloud with Cepheo as partner
“The project wasn’t without challenges, which unfortunately extended the timeline. But in the end, it turned out well,” says Bredahl.
“Our contacts at Cepheo deserve great thanks for their effort in understanding what we wanted from the project and for cracking the code with subcontractors so we got a clearer overview that made project management more manageable and efficient. It works much better now,” says the owner and CEO.
Bredahl Kristensen has worked with Cepheo for over 10 years. Despite some challenges, the overall experience has been positive.
“The collaboration has been good. It’s about feeling secure. We’re not experienced enough in IT ourselves, so it’s great to be able to rely on Cepheo,” he says.
The next step in Bredahl Kristensen’s IT journey is to ensure quality in construction projects and to work with Cepheo to modernize workflows by moving Microsoft SharePoint and Microsoft Outlook to the cloud.
